Everyday news from Jacksonville

Well it's been a few days since I've blogged.. so I thought I'd give you guys something to read. Not too much is new with me these days, just work and sleep and go to Curves (me and Matts mom [tammie] go 3-4 times a week!). I've been really loving living in New Brunswick, I actually am planning on staying here eventually. I can look out Matt's living room window and see mountains in the distance. I'll post a pic so you all can enjoy. Yesturday me and matt and 4 other couples (most of them being over 40) went on a motorcycle trip to Fredricton for supper. It was a pretty sweet time.. we took the back roads so it was really pretty. The only thing that made it seem a little long was how sore my butt was afterwards. We only stopped once on the way there.. and I honestly felt like crying from pain when I got there. Hahah.. matt says he wants to do a bike trip to CB this summer.. I guess we'll have to see about a new seat or a new toush for me before then. Anyway, I have to jet to work soon. It's going well by the way.. I really enjoying cooking in a kitchen (never thought I'd say that)! I'm working a 10 hour shift today though.. so I'm not as thrilled about that. I'm praying for rain!

Why I got fired...

Well there were a few special requests to hear why I got fired.. So I guess I'm obligated to tell my ridiculous story. When I got to Jacksonville I started a job as a waitress in a "fine-dining" restaurant downtown right away. The people that I was working for where foreign.. and a bit crazy, but I thought I could deal. Anyway, I worked there for only a week.. but I started on Saturday and my first day off from the nuthouse was the Sunday of the next week. Now I have to explain what Saturday night was like working. My bosses were a married couple, and they didn't really get a long to terribly well.. actually not at all. They yelled and cursed at each other about every 2 minutes. Not only that, but it was a small facility so everyone in the house could hear them scream (a little embarrasing). The last night I worked, the female boss (who I think is an alcoholic) had a breakdown and started screaming crying and yelling and cursing at her husband (with almost a full house). It was pretty dramatic and I didn't handle it well, but I went on working, the bosses were then all over me because they were mad and emotional at each other and took it out on me. I left that night thinking that I was probably going to quit.. cause it was just such a sucky job. The next day was my day off.. and I went to a trade show with Matt for the day. Half way through the day his parents showed up to take me home because apparently my bosses had called an hour earlier (when no one was home) and left a message that there was a meeting in an hour that I had to go to. I was beyond pissed. I saw someone who I was wokring with that night and asked her about it.. and she said to go. To make a long story not even longer, I just didnt go in the end, I decided that if I was going to be on call for them that I didn't want the job.. if I go in one sunday.. they'll call me whatever sunday they want. So I skipped it. Not really sure what happened after that... but my boss called me up and left a message again before I worked the next day. When I called him back, he fired me. Didnt even give me a reason.. so I didnt know what to do but laugh. HAhah, pretty much the stupidest scenerio ever. I'm glad its all over with too. But yah, the only pooey part is that he jipped me about $80 in my pay when I went to get it on Wednesday.. I wasn't too pleased because the jerk got away with it! Oh welll.. learning experiencE! But there is why I got fired. Have a good one.. I'm almost gonna be late for work!

new job

I am finally ready for summer to start. It's just been raining here in Jacksonville for the past few days.. but I think that we have a beautiful long weekend ahead of us. Some things have happened since the last time I blogged. First of all, I got fired. Pretty much the funniest experience of my life... second.. I got a new job! I now work at Smitty's Restaurant (pretty classy eh..) and I'm liking it a lot! The hours and pay are pretty good.. and generally the work atmosphere is a whole LOT better. Other than that.. we just had about 25 summiters over at the Grahams cottage this past weekend. Karen Wellwood (or I guess now Smith) got married last weekend and everyone came down to celebrate. It was a sweet time, and actually the last of them just cleared out today.. So anyway, not much exciting has been happening.. but I'm just enjoying life at the Grahams house in NB. I've decided that if I could get away with staying here for forever.. I would. I told my mom that the other day.. she was a bit offended.. but I think she'll get over it!! Well I am still yet to post pics.. but I will someday soon! Keep reading.

Good ole East Coast

Well me and Matty have been here for a bit more than a week now, and everything is going great. It's so nice to live out east for a while, I feel as if life gets a whole lot easier when you cross the New Brunswick border. I'm now working as a waitress at a fine dining restaurant downtown Woodstock (anyone who knows woodstock, knows that thats not a big deal). It's a decent job, my bosses (husband and wife) are a little off their rockers, but I can deal I think. I think I'll make good money this summer regardless, because expensive food means expensive tips. Haha. Matty is working at Carquest as their Parts boy-- I think its just an okay job, sucky part is that most days he works an opposite schedule as me. Anyway, I'm fully settling into the life of a New Brunswicker. I hang out with Matt's mom every day now (cause I work evenings) and we have a pretty good time cooking, going to curves and running errands. Yesturday I was introduced to the wonderful world of scrapbooking! I think I'm hooked! Yah, I'm pretty much a tool but its a good time. I'll have to post some pictures of Me and Matt in our uniforms.. its pretty snazzy. Anyway, Congrats to Karen and Brent who are getting married this coming weekend, and I can't wait to see all the Summiters that are coming our way! Safe trip everyone!
